Taylor Clark Dear Aggie Real Estate Network,

I think I speak for everyone in the Master of Real Estate program when I say that we are very grateful to have such a great organization providing support to us in our academic and professional endeavors. I am especially grateful for your scholarship gift which is helping me jump start my career in the real estate industry.

Having completed my undergraduate degree in Finance at Texas A&M, it was an easy decision to stay and enjoy a few more semesters of the Aggie Spirit. Fortunately for me, I had become interested in real estate during my last few semesters of my undergraduate studies and had heard great things about the Master of Real Estate program. Without a doubt the program has proved to be worthwhile academically, professionally, and socially. I had the honor of serving as the President of the Master of Real Estate Association this past semester and with the help of the other officers we have been able to foster a sense of camaraderie among the students in the program. I’m currently finishing up my last few weeks of the MRE Program, and while I won’t miss studying for Dr. Haney’s tests, I will miss the tight knit nature of our class. Luckily for me and everyone else in the program, we have the Aggie Real Estate Network to fill this gap for us after graduation.

I recently accepted a position with Bank of America in Dallas and am really looking forward to getting to work starting in late May. The program not only allowed me to jump straight to the final round of interviews, but also right to the top of the list of candidates being considered for the position. My experience really shows the acceptance of the curriculum and mission of the MRE Program in the business world.

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study for five years at Texas A&M, not to mention the privilege of being a part of the Aggie Real Estate Network going forward. Thank you to everyone that helps students like me begin successful careers in the real estate industry.

Best Regards,
Taylor Clark

Terry Turner | Valero Scholarship

Terry Turner Dear Aggie Real Estate Network,

I would like to thank you for your scholarship gift in helping me in my pursuit of a successful real estate career.

I graduated from Texas A&M with a BBA in Finance, and I am currently completing my final semester of the Masters of Real Estate program. I had an interest in real estate at an early age growing up in the rapidly expanding city of Sugar Land and Fort Bend County, and decided to pursue an education that would give me a background in both finance and real estate. The MRE program has exceeded my expectations, and over the last three semesters I have had the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge from experienced professors, guest lecturers, and potential employers that will allow me to be successful in a career in real estate.

The camaraderie of the Texas A&M Aggie network is what makes this school unique. In my search for a full-time job upon graduation, I have been able to reach out to former students of the Real Estate program, and experienced first hand the willingness of former Aggies to help the younger generation. Your gift is yet another sign of Aggies’ willingness to give back, and I look forward to working with the network in the future and helping students like myself.

So, thanks again to everyone that helps us students be able to pursue our futures through the Master’s of Real Estate program. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Terry Turner

Sarah Whitmore | Ivan & Luanne Schmedemann Scholarship

Sarah Whitmore Dear Aggie Real Estate Network,

Thank you for your support of my academic endeavors. Your generous gift is timely and makes a significant difference in funding my graduate education. I want to especially thank the Schmedemanns for their charitable donation to my future. Your investment in me motivates me to strive to exceed even my own expectations.

To give you a little insight into my background, I am from Sealy, Texas, a town famous for state championship 3A football and even some Aggie players. When I first applied to Texas A&M, I planned on pursuing a career in medicine. Through exposure to various real estate seminars via my father’s investment and brokerage company, I found my interests had changed. Thus, I transferred my focus to Finance with the intention of receiving a graduate degree from the Masters of Real Estate Program (MRE). With these goals in mind, I graduated from A&M during the Spring of 2009 and immediately applied for the Master of Real Estate Program of which I am currently in my third semester. Although the markets are currently more trying than in years past, our training prepares us to "seize the day" and embrace opportunities we may not see again in our lifetimes. Therefore, I could not be more confident in my decision. We, the students of the MRE program are very blessed to so greatly benefit from the investments of excellent professors, Aggie alumni, and fellow students. The Aggie network is what makes this program and university so special.

Thank you to everyone who has given back to Texas A&M through mentorships and financial support of students like myself. You are such a blessing. I look forward to the chance to pay it forward. God bless & gig 'em!

Sincerely,
Sarah Whitmore
